Carmelo Anthony met with Rockets, Heat

Carmelo Anthony is expected to hit the free agent market soon, as the Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly working on either a buyout or a stretching of his contract.

The Rockets lost forwards Luc Mbah a Moute to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and Trevor Ariza to a one-year agreement with the Phoenix Suns. The native of Cameroon spent the 2015-16 and 16-17 seasons with the Clips before signing with the Rockets as a free agent prior to this past season.

Green, a native of Houston, signed a 10-day contract with the Rockets on December 28 and ended up staying for the season.

Last season was a pretty good one for the Houston Rockets.

A move to Houston would see Anthony link up with close friend Chris Paul, part of the so-called "Banana Boat" crew along with LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. The 31-year-old averaged 7.5 points, three rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 25.6 minutes per game across 61 games (15 starts) in Houston. Anthony is now in the twilight of his career, barely shooting 40 percent from the field with the Thunder a year ago and averaging a career low in points while putting in his usual effort, or lack thereof, on defense.

Escoto explained that Honeycutt had been playing basketball in Russian Federation and was struggling to adapt to life there. Once inside they found Honeycutt completely unresponsive with what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Anthony opted into his $27.9 million contract for the 2018-19 season with the Thunder, but he's unlikely to stay due to the fact his scaled-back role with the team right now isn't what he wants.

Green originally signed with the Rockets on December 28, 2017 and averaged 12.1 points over the remainder of the season.

He previously played for the Clippers for two years prior to joining the Rockets.

Over the past seven seasons, Green averaged 10.8 ppg in 21.5 mpg.
