The National Transportation Safety Board plans a news conference Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at a building on Settlement Drive in Williamsburg about an hour east of Richmond.

The College of William and Mary said the incident happened near Dillard Complex and that people should avoid the area.

- Officials have identified the person killed when a helicopter crashed into a Virginia condominium as 91-year-old Jean Lonchak Danylko.

It was not immediately clear who owned the aircraft.

Fire crews spent Sunday night into Monday putting out the fire and hot spots that came as a result of the crash.

She lived in one of the units beneath the crash.

Neighbors said in the midst of all of the trauma, they are grateful for the first responders. "I just heard a loud "bam" and the whole house was on fire", Sweeney said.

Investigators are contacting local airports to determine what aircraft was in the air Sunday afternoon in order to develop a timeline for the crash, Anaya said.

FOX40 sister station WTKR reports as of 8:30 p.m., Virginia State Police reported that search and recovery efforts were ongoing at the scene and that there was one confirmed fatality inside the residential structure. She was active in the seniors community and at her church, Saint Olaf.
