Such is the case for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who famously unseated a longtime congressman incumbent when she won the Democratic primary in New York's 14th Congressional District.

At a glance, numerous Justice Democrats have tougher primaries than Ocasio-Cortez.

Cardillo's tweet wasn't the only right-leaning attempt to discredit Ocasio-Cortez in the wake of her upset win against Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) last week.

At the end of the night, when it came time to split the $560 in tips she had gotten at the bar, Ocasio-Cortez gave the waitress only $50.

While the picture of the Yorktown Heights home is indeed the one Ocasio-Cortez grew up in, Cardillo incorrectly stated that she went to Brown University.

"After diving in and doing some research and gauging the political climate of the USA after the Trump election, Bernie Sanders' Democratic primary loss, and countless others, I had a strong feeling that Alex's story would be quite a remarkable one regardless of the outcome of the primary", Alvarado said. Here is everything you need to know about the inspiring candidate, who was working as a bartender up until a year ago.

Researchers say CIMON is not yet trained to respond to all possible emergencies and protocols on the space station. NASA will hold a live broadcast of the spacecraft's rendezvous, capture and installation with the ISS on July 2.

Some of Ocasio-Cortez's supporters joked that they couldn't possibly support her anymore after hearing the shocking news that she grew up in a house. "Aside from her winning one of the top spots and going to the [Intel International Science and Engineering Fair], she was just one of the most fantastic presenters in all of the years I've been at Yorktown".

Cardillo is still tweeting about Ocasio-Cortez a day later. It was significant not only because she toppled a longtime leader of the Queens political machine and the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, but because she is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

In races across the country, Ocasio-Cortez's endorsement has been an incredible signal-booster, drawing fresh attention to candidates who had been struggling for it. "It is nice. Growing up, it was a good town for working people". "It was clear to her, even then, that the zip code a child was born in determined much of their destiny".

She said it was "exhausting just running in the Bronx and Queens" and she can't imagine how national candidates do it.

Naturally, a lot of institutionalists are pretty scared of her and they're trying out all the tactics they can think of to tear her down.
