When she was done, judge Simon Cowell said, "You were a shy little thing when you came out and then you sing and you are like a lion".

Fellow judge Howie Mandel agreed wholeheartedly, sending the teen straight through to live rounds with a press of the coveted Golden Buzzer.

Watch the adorable audition below! That changed her life.

Both the audience and the judges are left open-mouthed with surprise at the unique performance.

When "Hard to Handle" blared from the speakers, she began thrashing around the stage while belting out the song in her rich and soulful voice.

Judge Howie Mandel goes on to liken her to Janis Joplin. "Oh my gosh! You are not from this era. The only thing I can do for you, young lady, is give you..." Howie said as he hit the Golden Buzzer.

"You are absolutely incredible", host Tyra Banks added. "I've never seen anything like that", host Tyra Banks said of her performance.

Before she sang, Hadwin's father explained that his daughter was so shy and reclusive she had a hard time talking with people or making friends, and communicated best through her singing.

Courtney Hadwin has made it through to the next round of America's Got Talent.

This week her audition from America's Got Talent went on TV and the result was pretty awesome! Comparing Hadwin to a young Joplin, Mandel recalled the story of how legendary music producer Clive Davis discovered Joplin and immediately signed her to his label.
