Ghana to dissolve football association over bribery allegations

A statement published by the GFA confirmed that the FIFA Council Member, who had earlier in the day been banned by FIFA from all football related activity for a provisional period of 90 days, made this decision after an Executive Committee meeting on Friday.

Independent Ethics Committee has banned Ghana's Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi over corruption.

In the said video, Nyantakyi was seen extorting monies from investors by using the name of the President.

Abu was the gentleman who appeared in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas' investigative documentary as aide to embattled former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, allegedly scheming to cheat the football association.

The scandal has indicted 66 Ghanaian referees as well as 14 FA officials in taking bribes, with the FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi finding himself in the midst of the allegations.

According to a press release from the world football governing body on Friday, Nyantakyi's ban bars him from all football-related activities at both national and global level.

Man United agrees to deal for Fred
Midfielder Fred also got his black barnet newly coiffured and shaped, with a special gel added that made his spiky curls glitter. Sources have told ESPN FC the deal for the 25-year-old is worth around €55 million, which could rise to €60m with add-ons.

The latest documentary from controversial Ghanaian journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anasexposes this unfortunate truth.

"I wish to apologise to my family, work colleagues, friends, associates and the people of Ghana for the disappointment my indiscretion has caused them".

Nyantakyi, who is also a member of the Federation Internationale de Football Association council, was pictured taking $65,000 from an undercover reporter, who posed as a business man. However, parts of its rules is that governments should not interfere in football administration.

Ghana's Sports Minister Isaac Asiama has stated that the association will be "dissolved with immediate effect", Ghana Web reports.

Information minister Mustapha Abdul-Hamid said in a statement that the government was shocked and outraged at the contents of the documentary and would refer the alleged culprits to the police for investigation.

Ghana's U-20 team also won a historic World Cup under his reign.
