Rudy Giuliani: President Trump could pardon himself, but he probably wouldn’t

The assertion that a USA president holds an "absolute" power to pardon himself was endorsed on Sunday by Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of NY and a current member of Trump's legal team.

"I think if the president decided he was going to pardon himself, I think that's nearly self-executing impeachment", he said.

"I don't recommend that this president or any subsequent president avail him or herself of this power".

"It's not a good idea politically", he told Fox News.

When asked, Lee declined to speculate about the motivations of Trump or his legal team in bringing up the pardon power.

"I don't think either previous president did much to show China they meant business. I don't recommend it", Lee concluded.

"This morning, the president tweeted that he "has the absolute right to pardon himself" and that "the appointment of the special counsel is totally unconstitutional".

"I think the founders of our country would have a hard time with the notion that there is an executive that has such power that they could intervene and pardon themselves when they're the subject of an investigation", said Smith, who notes he is not a constitutional law scholar. "If four of them are completely innocent and one of them is your assumption that it's a guilty motive, which (Trump) would deny, you can't possibly prosecute him".

Rudy Giuliani: "It's not going to happen, so it's a hypothetical point".

Argentina team trains in Barcelona in attack, defence
The Argentina football team took part in a second training session at their pre-World Cup camp in Barcelona on Saturday. A lot has been said about Messi by a lot of people across the globe. "Quite a few squads are better,".

The letter was delivered to Mueller's office in January and authored by Jay Sekulow, who remains a member of the president's legal team, and John Dowd, who resigned from Trump's team in March.

She replied: "Why would he need to pardon himself if he's done nothing wrong? Our Founders would not have created - and did not create - a Constitution that would permit the President to use his powers to violate the laws for corrupt and self-interested reasons".

President Donald Trump has presented a legal puzzle to special counsel Robert Mueller: The Constitution says the president can pardon anybody-thus, he can pardon himself.

"It's an attempt to entrap the president", Biggs said on "Outnumbered Overtime" on Monday.

"You can't pardon yourself", Democratic US Representative Ted Deutch said on Twitter.

Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara also told State of the Union it would be "outrageous" for Trump to pardon himself.

"He could, if he wished, terminate the inquiry, or even exercise his power to pardon if he so desired."

"I actually think he's probably right", Samuel Morison, a lawyer who formerly worked in the Justice Department's Office of the Pardon Attorney, told The Post on Sunday. Look instead at the essence of what he is trying to do: Save himself from possible impeachment by subverting the rule of law and enhancing tribalism at the expense of citizenship. We the people must take our stand in November. He sidestepped the issue again in his conversation with NPR, but instead raised questions about why the president is even talking about a pardon.
