This change will be effective come fall when the Miss America 2019 competition airs live from Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September 9.

Changing direction: "We are no longer a pageant, ' Miss America chairwoman Gretchen Carlson (pictured) told Good Morning America on Tuesday".

The Miss America pageant is re-branding itself as competition in which judges will now evaluate candidates based on their brains rather than their brawn. Maybe other women felt that gut-level unfairness too - even women who took part in the competition themselves when they were younger. She's since become a vocal supporter of the #MeToo movement and has also hosted and supported the Miss You Can Do It Pageant, an event designed for girls with special needs.

On Tuesday morning, the official twitter account of Cara Mund, Miss America 2018, further underlined these changes by posting a video of a disappearing bikini.

Carlson noted that the changes aim to foster a more "inclusive" and "transparent" environment within the competition, and hopefully be more appealing to a younger audience. "You don't have to do that anymore".

Karl Stefanovic has defended bikini-clad beauty pageants, after Miss America announced it was scrapping the swimsuit competition.

Instead of showing off in a bathing suit, each contestant will interact with the judges to "highlight her achievements and goals in life and how she will use her talents, passion and ambition to perform the job of Miss America", the organization said.

Apple's ARKit 2.0 would allow "users play AR games against each other in the same virtual environment", according to Bloomberg . Bloomberg previously reported that Apple would announce multiplayer AR at its developer conference, which begins on Monday.

"It ain't just about jiggle and jangle, this is a competition that turns out women who have something to say, know how to say it, say it with conviction and they stand up for their causes", she said.

"We're interested in what makes you you", she said.

Miss America, America's favorite shitshow of a competition, has chose to make a radical change. The next competition won't look anything like this moment though, as the evening gown segment has also been deleted. While some were delighted to hear the news, others said that without the swimsuit round, Miss America would "fail".

In May, Regina Hopper (Miss Arkansas 1989) was appointed president and CEO while Marjorie Vincent-Tripp (Miss America 1991) was named chair of the Board of Trustees.

In place of the swimsuit competition, competitors will take part in a meeting with the judges.

Miss America has undergone a major overhaul in response to the Me Too movement.

But conservative middle-aged men are the most easily trolled people on the internet, and so most responses were making fun of them while praising Miss America 2.0.
