The Arab League held an emergency meeting of foreign ministers in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday, to debate how to deal with the United States move and the ensuing violence in the Palestinian Territory.

On Monday at least 62 Palestinian demonstrators were martyred and thousands more injured by Israeli armed forces along the Gaza border, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Francis on several occasions expressed support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, indirectly criticizing US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Israel's claim to Jerusalem as its capital.

The Iranian envoy, who was addressing a UNSC open debate titled "Upholding International Law Within the Context of the Maintenance of International Peace and Security", said Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu basically "ridiculed" international law by moving the USA diplomatic mission to Jerusalem al-Quds earlier this week.

Protesters are demanding that Israel allows the millions of Palestinians whose families left or were forcibly removed from Israel at its founding to return. He reaffirmed the Kingdom's steadfastness towards the Palestinian cause and its support for Palestinians in restoring their legitimate rights in accordance with the resolutions of global legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. Israel rejects those calls, saying its actions are necessary to stop mass infiltrations from the blockaded Palestinian enclave controlled by Islamist movement Hamas. Israel said it was acting in self-defense and showed evidence that many of those killed were Hamas operatives.

The Israeli army said it struck "targets belonging to Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip, including terrorist infrastructure and weapons-making facilities". No injuries was reported on either side.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the loss of lives in the recent Israel- Palestine clashes in Gaza. "War incites war, violence incites violence".

Though, Pentagon on Thursday justified Israeli violence against Palestinians. It says those approaching the fence have used explosive devices and firebombs, while soldiers have been shot at. "Our prayers go out to the families of those who died and to the Israeli soldiers who are in harm's way as well as those Israelis living on the border of Gaza who had to evacuate their homes".
