Six killed by Gaza Strip blast: Palestinian Ministry of Health

Gaza: At least five Palestinians were killed and six wounded on Saturday evening in an explosion in a house in Gaza Strip, security officials and eyewitnesses said.

The IDF said on Saturday it was unaware of the cause of the explosion and had no connection to the incident.

The military branch of Hamas was accused of the deaths of Palestinians by Israel, but the military said that there were attacks in this sector.

It is worth mentioning that Israeli Ynet News said one of the army's drones managed, Friday, "to down an incendiary kite, apparently by cutting the cord attached to it".

"If it wasn't for the occupation we would have lived as free as people like in other countries", Ahmed, 24, said at a protest site east of Gaza City.

The Israel Defense Forces on May 5 released video that was described as showing fires on the Israel-Gaza border, where clashes broke out the day before. A statement from the Palestinian Islamist group's armed wing called the incident a "deplorable Zionist crime" perpetrated against its fighters.

Scores of Palestinians were injured on Friday while taking part in ongoing rallies along the Gaza Strip's eastern border with Israel, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

The crowd, it said, had thrown explosive devices, firebombs and rocks leading troops to open fire "in accordance to the rules of engagement" to stop the rioters.

"The Hamas terror organization is exclusively responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip".

The weekly marches also press for a "right of return" of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to what is now Israel.

Also Sunday, Hamas' supreme leader, Ismail Haniyeh, was among thousands of Palestinians who attended funerals held for militants.

The rallies are set to culminate on May 15 to mark what Palestinians refer to as the Nakba or catastrophe, a reference to Israel's establishment in 1948, when 750,000 Arabs were forcibly removed from Palestine.
