F8 Attendees Get Free Oculus Go on May 2

Two versions of Oculus Go will be offered. The standalone VR headset was announced way back in October previous year, and more recently, signs pointed to a proper launch at Facebook's F8 conference this week.

Oculus Go, Facebook's standalone virtual reality headset, is shipping today. Starting at $199 Dollars for 32 GB of storage (or $249 USD for the 64 GB model), Oculus Go was designed with comfort in mind. That's shared between both eyes. It also boasts built-in spatial audio and an integrated microphone. Oculus says that battery life should be up to 2.5 hours of streaming media and video. Oculus Go is available for purchase on Oculus's website and via retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg. It's actually based on a smartphone processor, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 specifically. More than 100 Go-exclusive games and apps will also be available to download through the headset's digital storefront. This is a testament to Facebook's willingness to make tight or nonexistent profit margins in order to ensure it remains the leader of the VR market - it also speaks to the fact that Oculus understands mobile VR software better than any competitor, by a country mile.

London Stadium will not host Cricket World Cup matches
Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign against West Indies on May 31, 2019 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham . Afghanistan and Ireland were approved as Full Members by the International Cricket Council (ICC) a year ago .

The hardware is the company's first standalone headset and has launched with more than 1,000 apps, games and experiences.

In contrast, other headsets - like the Lenovo Mirage Solo, which is built on Google Daydream technology and is expected to arrive in stores in just a few days - support 6DoF.
