Comey's tell-all book piques readers' interest, stoked by Trump's fury

The highly-anticipated book, released April 17, debuted at the top slot on Amazon's bestseller list, but by Tuesday had slipped to second place.

According to NPD BookScan, which tracks approximately 85 percent of print sales, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership sold more than 600,000 copies in one week in all formats. The former Federal Bureau of Investigation director's memoir has been one of the year's most anticipated releases and includes his accounts of investigating Hillary Clinton's emails and of his awkward encounters with President Donald Trump. Though Comey's book seems to be in the lead now, this is likely because Flatiron Books-his publisher-was more prepared for its success.

Daniel Richman, a Columbia Law School professor, and David Kelley, a former USA attorney for the Southern District of NY, are also on Comey's legal team, according to a Comey associate. And Trump, who has showed a knack for helping publications he despises, tweeted that Comey was an "untruthful slime ball".

Trump dismissed Comey in May previous year while the FBI was investigating allegations Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between Russians and Trump's campaign.

Iranian general threatens all Israel air bases 'within reach'
A second alleged Israeli strike on the base, also known as T-4, on April 9, killed 14 people, including at least seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, of which one was the head of its drone program, Col.

"Fire and Fury", the explosive tell-all by journalist Michael Wolff, which also focuses on Trump, had a stronger start in January, with over one million copies sold in its first week, according to his publisher.

"Mr. Comey's publisher, Flatiron Books, has ordered multiple reprints to meet demand, and now has more than a million copies in print", writes the Times. Its first week sales, which include pre-orders, well exceed those of "Fire and Fury". The announced print run by Henry Holt and Co. was just 150,000 copies and many stores went out of stock during the book's initial time on sale.

Wolff's book has sold almost 975,000 print copies, and Clinton's memoir has sold some 511,000 total print copies, according to NPD BookScan.

Comey's tour also includes an interview on Fox News on Thursday.
