Beyonce bounces back at Coachella

Beyonce did what no other artist ever did in her Coachella performance by both being the first black woman to headline the event and by paying tribute to historically black colleges.

Through her BeyGOOD philanthropic initiative, the pop star has established the Homecoming Scholars Award program, which will award $100,000 in scholarships to Xavier, Wilberforce, Tuskegee and Bethune-Cookman universities.

Beyonce returned spectacularly to the stage Saturday with a joyous, homecoming-themed party at the Coachella festival where she delighted fans with a rare reunion of her former trio Destiny's Child.

"She also hopes that it will encourage young kids to enroll in our unbelievable historically Black colleges and universities", Lawson concluded.

Whoever wins the speakership needs a simple majority of the entire House - about 218 votes. Should the party lose its majority, the top Republican would be minority leader.

The singer who is African American by heritage has just announced about the donation this Monday after her performance on Saturday at the Coachella Music Festival. Bey sauntered across the stage wielding a staff as she wore an austere head-dress, a bejeweled skin-tight leotard (natch), and a billowing cape befitting a queen. Student courses of study to be considered for the scholarship will include "literature, creative arts, African-American studies, science, education, business, communications, social sciences, computer science and engineering", according to the site.

For her next number, she switched into a sexy latex Balmain bodysuit with bedazzled shoulder pads that matched her new silver manicure. All applicants must maintain a 3.5 GPA or above. Each university will select its own finalists, with the winners set to be announced this summer.

Beyoncé will provide $25,000 scholarships to four students at historically black colleges and universities.
