Comey: Trump Asked Me to Investigate 'Pee Tape' to Prove It Didn't Exist

Following several tantrums and attacks coinciding with the release of book excerpts, the president began his Sunday obsessively attacking Comey, the memoir, Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch.

In the book, Comey compares Trump to a mob boss and mocks the president's appearance. CNN's Jake Tapper is set to interview Comey on April 19.

The commander-in-chief has stamped Comey as a "LEAKER & LIAR", ahead of his highly anticipated tome, which hits shelves Tuesday.

Trump and his allies have already launched a counterattack.

President Donald Trump fired off a series of angry tweets directed at the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director Sunday morning, ahead of James Comey's upcoming book tour.

Comey has indeed faced criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike - and the release of his book gives him a high-profile platform to defend himself.

Comey, however, described in his memoir that his concern lay not with keeping his job, but making Clinton appear to be an "illegitimate president" by not disclosing the fact that the FBI had restarted its investigation into her use of a private email server.

Officials initially thought the remains were that of a child, but later clarified that it was a woman. The Harts moved to a home in Woodland, Washington, in mid-2017, neighbors said.

Clinton has previously noted she believes Comey's announcement played a part in her losing out on the presidency.

His demonization echoes Clinton's "deplorables" comment that reflected her disdain for the 63 million American citizens who voted for Trump.

Still, despite all the Comey craziness, the president's approval ratings have been slowly ticking upward for weeks.

The publicity tour - and the book - will be the first time the American public has heard extensively from Comey since his explosive testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June of previous year. Mueller's probe has expanded to include whether Trump obstructed justice by firing Comey.

On October 28 that same year however, mere days before the election, then-Director of the FBI James Comey sent a letter to congress declaring that the agency would be looking back at the email investigation.

Trump denied the allegations and said he might want the FBI to investigate allegations in the dossier to prove they were untrue, Comey told ABC. The interview will air Sunday night on ABC. "This is nothing more than a poorly executed PR stunt by Comey to desperately rehabilitate his tattered reputation and enrich his own bank account by peddling a book that belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section", she said. In the clip, Comey characterizes the situation as surreal. Mr. Trump's early-morning missives slammed the ex-director as a "slimeball", while simultaneously casting Comey as someone he "hardly knew".
