Barca were poised to reach the semi-finals following last week's 4-1 rout at Camp Nou, however, the unbeaten La Liga leaders were stunned 3-0 by Roma in the Italian capital Tuesday.

De Rossi hammered in the second goal of the night from the penalty spot after Edin Dzeko got the hosts off to the ideal start by opening the scoring after six minutes at an electric Olympic Stadium.

Kostas Manolas sent Roma through to the semi-finals of the Champions League after an incredible 3-0 victory over Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday saw them overhaul a 4-1 first-leg deficit and advance on away goals. "They could've scored two or three goals in the first half but it was 100 percent clear that if we win the ball we'd have an opportunity". Dzeko drew a penalty from Barca defenders and let Daniele De Rossi, who scored an own goal in the first leg, take it.

Before that, Marc-Andre ter Stegen pulled off a brilliant 37th-minute save from a Dzeko header and off-form club-record signing Patrik Schick wasted two very presentable headed chances.

"It's about as much as I could have hoped for tonight".

Dzeko was at it again after the break with a show of brute force, shrugging off Gerard Pique and Umtiti to approach the goal.

Eusebio Di Francesco's side smelled blood, and with the raucous crowd urging their team they tore into wobbling Barca.

She also wanted the legislature to implement a hotel tax that was passed last month but later halted by lawmakers. The Senate approved two additional bills on Friday that are created to raise $40 million more for schools.

All City's breathless efforts though were undone in the 56th minute when Liverpool got the crucial away goal - Sadio Mane burst into the box, City keeper Ederson dived at his feet but the ball spilled out to Salah who took his time before coolly converting.

The last time Roma got so far in Europe's top competition was back in 1984, when the Giallorossi contrived to lose the final on penalties to Liverpool at their own ground.

"I am responsible. I make the team, I prepare it".

"It's hard to accept this elimination because we had a lot of hope for this season and once again it has escaped us", said Barca captain Andres Iniesta. "You analyze things", Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde said through a translator when asked if would take the blame for the loss.

"It is a painful defeat". "Now we will have some tough days ahead of us, I have no doubt about that". Now we must lick our wounds.

The former Sassuolo boss was also successful in motivating his team from the touchline, and keep them calm when their dream appeared set to become reality.
