The new feature lets you focus on the face of the person or object being clicked and softly blurs the background.

As you can see, the app makes the "continue without syncing" button much, much smaller than the massive "NEXT" button, and generally designs it to be as un-eye-catching as possible.

This Focus mode is available on iPhone SE, 6S, 6S+, 7, 7+, 8, 8+, X and select Android devices.

When asked how the new focus feature works without dual cameras an Instagram spokesperson explained, "Focus mode leverages background segmentation and face detection technology". Yes, Focus mode supports videos too!

While the future is available for both iOS and Android, not all smartphones are getting feature. Portrait Mode became a thing with the launch of the iPhone 7 Plus.

CWG 2018: Ravi Kumar bags bronze as India's medal tally reaches 10
For Thakur, the medal was a climbdown from the 2014 edition where he had claimed a silver with a lesser lift of 333kg. He attempted to break the CWG record for a second time by going for 217 kg in his third and last attempt.

Like all other Instagram formats, you can add filters, stickers and texts to the videos and photos once they've been captured. Now screenshots and a short demo showing the new feature has been shared online thanks to TechCrunch. It involves some software trickery to ensure that the person stays in focus while applying a soft blur to the background.

Photo and video-sharing app Instagram has received a new update to its camera.

Since portrait mode makes subjects "pop", it is a cool way to make your photos stand out and now Instagram is joining the fun.

In a similar vein to Snapchat's Snapcodes, Instagram is reportedly readying its Nametag feature that will allow users to follow friends by scanning tags with their smartphone camera. Once the photo is taken, it can be added to user's Instagram Story, it can be sent to friends, or it can be saved on the phone.
