The Red Hawks swept a road twin bill against the Beloit Buccaneers as they won 4-0 and 2-1. "We're looking for it to be a big step in the right direction".

"I liked the way we came back", coach Joann Desrouchers said. "We had some timely hitting and our defense was awesome".

"I kept hoping we'd hit the time limit before they had a chance to tie it up, although they had a few chances".

Smyrna would get the same opportunity, but a strikeout and two fly outs stranded the runner, and giving the victory to Indian River. Our juniors and seniors are really carrying us right now with their play and attitudes and we are striving to improve. "I'm looking forward to the next few weeks to see what this team is going to become", stated Coach Evans.

Midway struck first with a run in the top of the first to grab the early 1-0 lead. Her grand slam in the fourth gave the Dragons an 8-0 lead.

Cripps and the Dino offense weren't done after the first inning, they scored three runs in the second inning with doubles coming from Calli Fossat and McKenna Pendergrass.

TU was in control for virtually all of Game 1, working to a 7-0 lead by the bottom of the fifth inning.

Marzorini got it done both at the plate and in the circle.

After Wolcott went on top 2-1 in the third, and with runners on the corners, Turiano saved at least one run with a running catch of a sinking liner in left field.

Alyssa McGinley was 2 for 3 with one RBI for Manchester Township. Morgan Mooney hit 1 for 1. Trista Craigmyle (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) then re-entered to run as Marissa Walker (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) bunted and reached on a base hit. Kristen Stiefel scored a run and had 2 stolen bases. The Dragons are scheduled to play at Konawa Tuesday against Konawa and Holdenville.

The Lancers will return to tournament play on Saturday.

The pitching of Lexi Reetz was a big reason the Red Hawks (2-2 conference, 8-14 overall) were able to take a pair of games from Beloit (0-2 conference, 3-17 overall).
