The march will begin at the Milwaukee County Courthouse (901 N. Ninth St.) at 10 a.m. on March 24 and will continue to City Hall. "Some people don't have parents because of gun violence", one student said. "And they weren't going to let us do the same", she said Sunday.

That's something speaker Barbara Monsegur, assistant superintendent of Catholic schools for the Tucson Diocese, encouraged in her speech.

"Gun control, mental health issues, bullying in schools, school safety in general", Keene says.

"The Corp's involvement today in the walkout for gun violence was awesome". The Second Amendment is the right to bear arms, and the 14th Amendment guarantees equal protection under the law.

While news stations across the country stopped at 10:00 AM to show the school protests happening, Greenwich High School told the outside press that they were not allowed to come and report on the rally.

Students were happy with the level of turnout for a small school.

Students at Central High also carried out a quiet demonstration. Mostly, protesters stood in silence facing the school.

It takes moral courage to walk out or protest.

According to the group of student protesters at North Bend, the protest really resonates with some of them because of a false alarm lockdown that happened previous year, when a shooter was thought to be on the North Bend campus. They placed flowers in a center of a circle.

Some students have issued specific demands for lawmakers, including mandatory background checks for all gun sales and a ban on assault weapons like the one used in the Florida bloodbath.

About 200 students were given by permission by the school to walk out and march for more than two miles before returning to class.

Stoneman Douglas High senior David Hogg, who has emerged as one of the leading student activists, livestreamed the walkout at the tragedy-stricken school on his YouTube channel.

Philippines to Withdraw from the ICC Immediately: Duterte
The Philippines on Friday informed the UN Secretary-General of its intention to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC ).

Students at North Bend who participated were given a card during the walk-out that read "Congratulations taking part in a walk-out, you have taken a step toward developing post-conventional ethical reasoning capabilities, an attribute viewed as most favorable by higher education".

"If you're like me, you're here because you're exhausted", she said. "It could have happened here". The silence was broken up only by the occasional short speech from some of the assembled students.

"The NRA has held Congress hostage for years now".

Seventeen minutes later they returned to class.

The letter proved compelling enough to have Sleepy Hollow High School students sign onto it, making it a unified statement from young people in three contiguous villages.

"We are exhausted of being scared to come to school", said Ben Ramirez, a student in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, a month after the Florida shootings, student walkouts took place at many schools around the country, including one at Findlay High School, where about 200 students participated. "Swift action was taken by school security and [police] to address the situation".

"We wanted to not make it super political". "All of us have different reasons for being here".

The National Walkout Day on March 14 was meant to protest gun violence and push for stricter gun laws.

In the afternoon, more North High students went outside for 17 minutes of reflection. "Everything was going fine, until it started to get rowdy", said Fares Ali, a senior at the high school, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. In response, Keranen reached out and stated gathering up other students. "We just want to prove we're coming from a reasonable place and we just want people to listen to our voices and give us a chance". "It's about people, it's not necessarily about guns".

Senior Tasker Winslow told Principal Ted Moccia that he feels students are often left under-informed about threats to the school. "I think a lot of times people ignore the kids".
