The storm system tomorrow and Wednesday is quite complex. This incoming storm, which will bring rain and snow across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, will be the fourth storm to ravage the East Coast in three weeks. At this time, it appears tomorrow will offer lots of clouds with some light snow and mix developing, mainly south of the turnpike.

"Depending on the eventual track of the storm, some areas may receive significant snowfall of 6 inches or more", the weather service said.

But the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency has started preparing the possibility of plowable snow and other impacts across the region Wednesday into Thursday. That could mean a messy commute Tuesday and again on Wednesday morning.

Any chance of accumulating snow will likely be elevation driven in places such as Roanoke and Harrisonburg, Virginia. Also, the high angle of the sun in the sky could keep snow accumulations down during daytime, the NWS says. The key will be how Tuesday night and Wednesday play out.
