Budget Session of Parliament Lok Sabha Rajya Sabha adjourned for ninth day as protests continue

Following Telugu Desam Party's decision to withdraw support from the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance coalition on March 16, the TDP is set to move a no-confidence motion against the central government on Monday, 19 March. At least 50 members have to back the motion for it to be admitted.

The motions were supposed to be taken up after the Question Hour, but members from the Opposition parties trooped into the Well of the house carrying placards and raising slogans.

The TRS MPs will continue their protests in Parliament until the Centre came up with its stand. The Speaker clarified that No Confidence Motion can be taken up only when the house is in order but certain party MPs continued their protests.

The no-confidence motion, moved by the TDP and YSR Congress is to put shortly on LS; against the NDA government.

Once a notice is given, the speaker reads it in the House and asks those who are in favour of it.

Soon after the TDP quit the NDA, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee welcomed the Chandrababu Naidu-led party's move and urged the opposition parties to stay united.

During a teleconference on deciding to pull out of the NDA, Naidu said that the party should move the no-trust motion on its own instead of supporting the one being moved by their rival YSR Congress Party.
