Draft Reset: Colts Have Options at Number Six

The Jets Can Erase Years of Futility at QB with the No. 3 Pick

The Jets Can Erase Years of Futility at QB with the No. 3 Pick

That still may be the case if they can convince the New York Giants to move down from the second overall pick.

After failing to land quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Jets will likely land a top quarterback with the move from No. 6 to No. 3.

Now it appears as though either Rosen, Darnold or Allen will be the final addition to the Jets' quarterback room for 2018. The Jets announced the news Saturday morning via the organization's official Twitter account. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who missed last season with a severe shoulder injury, is expected to return in 2018.

In recent days, general manager Mike Maccagnan has attended the pro days of Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and UCLA's Josh Rosen.

The move may also force the Cleveland Browns into taking a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick.

Djokovic suffers 'weird' loss at Indian Wells as he returns from surgery
He is making a cautious return to the ATP Tour after stopping his 2017 season following Wimbledon due to a right elbow injury. The win sets up a third-round showdown with Spaniard David Ferrer , who defeated Tennys Sandgren of the U.S. 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

If nothing else, prized Notre Dame offensive guard Quenton Nelson should be on the board for the Colts with the 6th overall pick, especially with some quarterback needy teams selecting ahead of them.

Cleveland is nearly certainly forced to take a quarterback at No. 1 overall now. Perhaps the Giants look at Darron Lee, a speedy linebacker, as a good fit in their new defense and accept the 2016 first-round pick as compensation for swapping draft spots with the Jets. It also adds some intrigue with the Giants and Jets picking back-to-back at No. 2 and No. 3. Just to move up three spots from six to three, the Jets had to surrender more than first round value in terms of draft compensation.

The move comes after NY kicked off free agency with a furious frenzy. Those fears were compounded after NY lost out on prized free agent Kirk Cousins to Minnesota.

But with the Colts switching to a 4-3 defense that favors speed, the 320-pound, 26-year-old Hankins apparently no longer fit.

The 25-year-old Crowell complements veteran Bilal Powell and second-year back Elijah McGuire in New York's running game. Many draft observers and National Football League insiders expect the Giants to take a player other than a quarterback, maybe offensive lineman Quenton Nelson or defensive end Bradley Chubb, but can they really pass up the chance to draft Eli Manning's successor?
