Drew Brees re-signs with Saints on 2-year, $50 million contract

Would Cowboys sack Dak Prescott if Drew Brees hit the open market

There have already been several teams that have reached out to express their interest in his services, which includes potentially returning to the New Orleans Saints.

So close, they have just agreed to a new contract for $50 million over two years.

Last season, Brees completed an NFL-record 72 percent of his passes for 4,334 yards and 23 touchdowns against eight interceptions.

Brees, who turned 39 in January, was due to become a free agent on Wednesday.

His short-term contract extension is his second with New Orleans after he signed a one-year, $24.25 million extension before the start of the 2016 season.

One player that Brees would like to see in a Saints uniform is tight end Jimmy Graham, who has been linked to a return to his first National Football League team. It's really no sweat for New Orleans, though.

Petr Cech saved a penalty on his way to becoming the first goalkeeper to claim 200 Premier League clean sheets. Following the match, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted he is concerned over his star striker.

However, it appears the former Pro Bowler for the Saints will instead present a new target for Super Bowl XLV MVP Aaron Rodgers, instead.

However Brees doesn't have to do it all for the Saints anymore.

As for that second Super Bowl championship - well, that seems more realistic than it has in a while, too, after the Saints went 11-5 previous year and came one miracle play away from reaching the NFC Championship Game. He joined Brett Favre and Petyon Manning in that exclusive club.

The Saints won their wild-card playoff game against Carolina, and were one play short of advancing to the NFC Championship for the third time with Brees.

Brees said his camp and the Saints were in constant contact over the past week, and while some fans might have panicked as negotiations lingered, Brees said he never anxious.
