Despite Mueller indictments, many Republicans doubt Russian meddling happened

СМИ узнали о новых обвинениях в адрес экс-главы предвыборного штаба Трампа

The Russian dirty tricks started in 2014, a year before Donald Trump announced his candidacy, and well before anyone in his or her right mind - in Russia or anywhere else - thought Mr. Trump would be the next president.

The American people must demand protection for our country from future "information warfare" conducted by Russian Federation to sabotage our elections, undermine our democracy and help elect a U.S. president of Putin's choosing.

Nevertheless, as several fact-checkers pointed out, while Trump has been weak and deferential toward Putin, his national security team has implemented tougher positions, including providing lethal aid to Ukraine, extending sanctions to "38 new individuals and companies, including two Russian officials, for their alleged involvement in the ongoing violence in Ukraine and the occupation of Crimea".

In a hearing on global threats this month, National Intelligence Director Dan Coats said, "There should be no doubt that Russia perceives that its past efforts have been successful and views the 2018 midterm U.S. elections as a potential target for Russian influence operations".

The CIA director, Federal Bureau of Investigation director, national intelligence director and a few more directors of secret stuff have all testified that Russian Federation is planning to meddle in our mid-term elections this November, ostensibly to keep control of Congress in the hands of Republicans.

If you read the Mueller indictment, you might think the Russians were everywhere, not only advertising on Facebook ("Trump is our only hope for a better future"; "Ohio Wants Hillary 4 Prison"), but organizing rallies around the country. The amount of churn in the USA political system since Trump's election, as evidenced for example by the formation of a "resistance" that fundamentally contests Trump's legitimacy as president, shows that the Russians have no reason to regret their expenditures on the Internet Research Agency, although, of course, they have no way of knowing that most of this activity wouldn't have occurred in any case.

Reporting on the Mueller indictment, the New York Times headlined its article, in typical Gray Lady fashion, "Moscow's Hand Swirled in USA, but Whether It Tipped Election Is Unclear". We can't help but wonder why there is so much evidence of contacts between Trump people and top Russians.

Mobile officer killed, suspect found dead after standoff
The suspect was also killed, though reports said it was unclear whether he was killed by police or else took his own life. Officer Justin Billa was shot Tuesday night as he approached the home of a man who was suspected of killing his ex-wife.

Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin when he subsequently ordered the dismissal of 755 workers at USA outposts in Russia, many of them Russians.

As Trump used to say about other matters, something is going on here, something wrong and troubling, something disturbing and unsafe to American security.

So it was again Wednesday in his latest tweet crying foul about the probe, which he said should be looking into the Obama administration's actions during and after the campaign. "The good thing is, after all that - millions in legal fees, hundreds of hours of preparation, every headline in the world trying to attack me personally - they kept digging and the only thing that they found is that the other side is doing these things and we didn't do anything". But it is pretty close to the opposite of Trump's expressed wish that Russian Federation could be a friend of the United States. Goldman added: "Still, there are keys facts about the Russian actions that are still not well understood".

In September 2017, the Department of Homeland Security notified 21 states that efforts were made by "Russian government cyberactors" to hack their elections systems in the 2016 presidential election. They worked to spread lies about voter fraud around the same time that Trump began spreading those lies himself.

Steele is not a USA citizen.

The Russia campaign was a shockingly cynical violation of our sovereignty. We don't know whether it will lead to Donald Trump or not, but it already has ensnared his former associates.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) almost accused Trump and Putin of being banya buddies - pouring icy cold water all over Trump's claim to the "Toughest on Russia" crown (which is bedazzled with MSNBC headlines). Basically, these indictments reveal to us all kinds of inconvenient truths the corrupt media are hiding from the public, and below are 13 of them.
