Calley tells the Detroit Free Press that the fund "will likely need hundreds of millions of dollars".

"Well, as I said before, we'll cooperate with any investigation and always have", Izzo said.

Calley is Attorney General Bill Schuette's main rival for the Republican nomination for MI governor, and is a close ally of current Gov. Rick Snyder.

She said she also believes the new scrutiny on Michigan State from the scandal will help to ensure that university officials do the right thing in the future, should any similar situations arise.

One woman, Larissa Boyce, said she and a fellow teenage teammate complained about Nassar to Klages in 1997, when they trained with the Spartan youth gymnastics team.

The investigation is being led by independent special prosecutor and retired Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth, with assistance from the Michigan State Police led by Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue. His words on the matter are sure to put even more pressure on the Michigan State President and Board of Trustees to make full scale changes.

Nassar has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years for sexually assaulting young women in his care.

The school didn't give Thomashow the rest of its findings, including that Nassar's failure to explain the "invasive, sensitive procedures" he did and to obtain prior consent from patients was "opening the practice up to liability and is exposing patients to unnecessary trauma based on the possibility of perceived inappropriate sexual misconduct". Many are claiming the school ignored complaints about Nassar for over two decades.

Before this week, Nassar already had been sentenced to 60 years in prison for federal child pornography charges.

The report included incidents about football players in Mark Dantonio's program and basketball players in Tom Izzo's program.

Earlier Friday, MSU athletic director Mark Hollis announced his retirement. USA Gymnastics counted him as part of its medical staff or as national team doctor through several Olympic cycles.

"Now, I've done this for a long, long time and I have to confess that I have never seen anything like what has played out over the last couple of weeks in the Ingham County courtroom during the sentencing of Larry Nassar", Forsyth said.
