A super blue blood moon set to appear Wednesday

It'll be the first time in 35 years that a lunar eclipse will coincide with a "super moon" and a "blue moon".

That means that if you live in the Eastern part of the USA, your best bet is to get as high as you can and have a clear line of sight to the horizon in the west-northwest. The result: the moon appears larger than normal and NASA is predicting this one will be 14% brighter than usual.

If you find that NASA's site is overburdened and running slow, Space.com, will also provide the live stream at the same times.

A supermoon is a full moon that is closest in its orbit to the Earth. And, unlike a solar eclipse, no special glasses are required.

It becomes reddish because the Sun, Earth and Moon will be aligned perfectly in a manner that the Earth will bend sunlight passing through its atmosphere to give the moon its colour.

And unlike last year's solar eclipse that had everyone in a tizzy, this time you don't need special glasses or a long vehicle trip to take in the sky show.

Dozens killed in fire at Miryang hospital
The latest blaze occurred not long after a conflagration at a fitness centre in Jecheon city killed 29 people last month. Yonhap says the hospital has 193 beds including 98 beds for the elderly who needs nursing care with 35 medical staff.

A total lunar eclipse, thus "blood moon" too. Dr. Ciocca says says for us in Kentucky, we will only see a partial eclipse, but if you were to travel further west in the USA you would likely see a better show. And we're just squeezing in this second full moon on January 31. "The eclipse will be harder to see in the lightening pre-dawn sky, and the Moon will set after 7:00 a.m.as the Sun rises". Otherwise, your view of the sinking moon partly in Earth's darkest shadow (umbra) will be blocked.

"The lunar eclipse on January 31 will be visible during moonset".

The moon is actually going to appear a reddish-orange color. So, "set your alarm early and go out and take a look", Johnston said. This is the second full moon of the month, which means it is also a blue moon. But those in Mountain, Central and Eastern time will only get to view the beginning of the eclipse since the moon will begin dipping below the horizon before it's fully completed.

The last time, such total lunar eclipse had taken place on December 30 in 1982, she informed.

By 10.51pm the Earth's shadow will completely cover the moon, and the total eclipse will last until 12.07am before the partial eclipse ends at 1.11am.
