The website previously reported on Instagram testing a new word-focused tool called "Text" that can be used in the app's stories feature.

In a written statement, a spokesman for Snapchat said: 'Since launching Our Stories in June 2014, we've seen the unique perspectives of Snapchatters as they share Snaps from major news events as well as everyday life in Our Stories and Search Stories. The Android and iOS versions of the Snapchat app in these regions have already been updated to new versions with a drastic redesign that was teased last November. Search Stories is another way to access public, user-generated snaps by searching keywords, and Snap says those will be available on the web for 30 days, just like Official Stories. However, being able to share Stories outside of the app could also pique the interest of those who never downloaded it or who have been put off by a UX that's proved confusing to newcomers in the past.

Snapchat has recently announced an update that will enable users to share select contents outside of the app.

This is the first time that people who don't have Snapchat accounts can see Stories created on the platform (besides when looking at their friends' phones).

While it shows you how many times your profile has been viewed, it doesn't tell you who those visitors are. An emoji will also appear next to their name, so you know they're the real deal. Interestingly, the company has also added that monetization of the stories is also being considered. First, there's Official Stories - these are from a small group of notable Snapchatters, including top celebs like Phillip Schofield, Dua Lipa, Chris Froome, Stormzy, Anthony Joshua, Joe Wicks, Millie Bobby Brown, Rita Ora, and Niall Horan.
