The endeavours that I refer to centre on former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and current Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Dortmund manager Peter Stöger even left him out of the squad for Sunday's game against Wolfsburg after he missed a team meeting.

A deal for Aubameyang would also depend on Arsenal agreeing a transfer fee with Dortmund, who are reportedly asking for £55 million, but the club are confident that the player himself is willing to move to London.

The report goes on to state that 28-year-old will be a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days.

The Gabon worldwide is reportedly unhappy in Germany and is openly looking to leave the club.

If Arsenal end up without Mkhitaryan in any deal for Sanchez, the club could potentially turn their attention to Bordeaux winger Malcom instead.

This has obviously come to the attention of Arsenal's new head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat.

It seems Aubameyang is desperate to leave the Westfalonstadion as The Sun are citing a report from Bild that claims the striker has now handed in a transfer request in order to push through his move to Arsenal. The Gunners signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for £46.5m before the season started, but the French striker has scored just eight goals so far and hasn't found the net since scoring against United at the start of December.

But it now appears that he may have played his last game for the German club after Arsenal began discussions regarding a January switch.

Stoger said: "It was a relatively important session that he stayed away from, which showed me that he is not so focused".

However, Arsenal fans have reason to be confident again this afternoon due to Aubameyang's Twitter activity.

The award program, now in its 24th year, has twice gone to the Honda Civic. 2018 marks the third win in a row for Honda. Organizers accept no advertising, though automakers try to capitalize on the marketing value of the awards.
