Pat Shurmur may look to bring Case Keenum with him to Giants

Shurmur reportedly will accept the job if offered, but the Giants will not be able to announce the signing until the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs.

Giants are expected to hire Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur as head coach after firing Ben McAdoo, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Both Shurmur and McDaniels are coaching in this weekend's championships games. Colt McCoy started 21 games at quarterback in those two seasons and Shurmur was sacked after posting a 9-23 record, which looks better in retrospect for a franchise that is 4-44 over the past three seasons.

Shurmur, 52, spent two seasons in Cleveland in 2011-12, guiding the Browns to a 9-23 record.

Shurmur is now preparing for the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which means the Giants can not officially make an offer for the job until after the Vikings season ends. He can get some revenge on the organization this Sunday. If he is indeed hired, Shurmur would become New York's third head coach since 2015.

General Motors drops steering wheel, gives robot driver control
General Motors Co . has pulled the curtain off its plans for a fleet of self-driving vehicles that will hit USA roads in 2019. Riders will use a Cruise AV mobile-app to hail the cars, which will launch in one unnamed USA city next year.

Shurmur is in his second season with the Vikings. As one of the nine known coaches Arizona has interviewed, it would expected he would meet with the Cardinals a second time. His availability will depend on how far the Vikings go in the postseason.

Shurmur went on to be the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia under Chip Kelly and has worked under Mike Zimmer, Andy Reid, and Steve Spagnuolo. Shurmur has gotten career years out of Nick Foles, Sam Bradford and, most recently, Case Keenum. Shurmur led the Eagles to a 35-30 win over the Giants in the 2015 season finale as interim coach after Kelly was sacked.

But he made the most of his opportunity in Minnesota and now he's one game away from getting the Vikings to the Super Bowl.

Odell Beckham Jr. thinks it's a Shur' bet.
