Netflix is bringing HDR and surround sound support to the Razer Phone

At CES 2018, Razer showed off Project Linda that pairs perfectly with the latest Razer Phone.

The idea of smartphone-powered laptop is nothing new as there were so many such implementations over the years.

While not a laptop without the phone, the chassis's keyboard does offer Razer's Chroma backlighting and customization settings.

Project Linda also has a 53.6 Wh internal battery that can fully charge the docked Razer phone three times without AC power.

"Android power users and laptop enthusiasts share a need for performance in a mobile form factor, which we provide with our award-winning Razer Phone and Razer laptops", Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said in a press release. "Users benefit from a responsive and comfortable typing experience, customized for the Android environment with dedicated keys for navigation, search and app selection", Razer says.

"Nvidia announces 65" 120Hz displays with 4k resolution, HDR and g-sync
BFGDs are basically displays made by several manufacturers, which feature G-Sync HDR and Nvidia Shield built in. A price point for the monitors, which will be created by Acer , ASUS , and HP, hasn't been released just yet.

Project Linda proves interesting for mobile gaming, adding mouse and keyboard control for extra precision. And the Razer Phone's 120Hz refresh rate translates to smooth visuals on the larger 13.3-inch laptop's display as well. Having spent many trade shows with my laptop tethered to my my phone's mobile connection due to shoddy Wi-Fi, I can certainly see the appeal.

Finally, Project Linda improves Android gaming and productivity.

The aluminium body of the Razer Project Linda has 200gb of storage, a 3.5mm audio jack, USB port, USBC port, 720p webcam and double mics.

The physical design of the laptop is similar to the Blade Stealth in that it sports a unibody CNC aluminum chassis.
